Turkey Chili

chili

How ’bout warming up with a chunky, spicy, satisfying bowl of chili!  In this recipe, I use ground turkey instead of beef, and sneak in a few extra veggies. Feel free to be creative and add your own favourites!

2 Tbsp. olive oil

1 onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, diced

2 small carrots, peeled and diced

2 celery stalks, diced

1 lb package lean ground turkey

2 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce

2 Tbsp. Montreal Chicken Seasoning

2 Tbsp. Chili Powder

1 Tbsp. Cumin Powder

2 Tbsp. maple syrup

1 can tomato sauce

1 can diced tomatoes

1 can red kidney beans

1 can white kidney beans

Grated Cheddar Cheese for garnish

Place oil and onions in a large pot. Sauté until soft. Add garlic, carrots, celery, ground turkey, Worcestershire Sauce, Montreal Chicken Seasoning, and fry until turkey is cooked. Add the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, and simmer on low heat, stirring regularly, for 30 minutes. Ladle into bowls and sprinkle grated cheddar cheese on top.

Yours in good health,

Caryn
